Interdisciplinary Minor in Women's and Gender Studies

This minor is available to students pursing a graduate degree at MU.

12 to 15 credit hours will be chosen to complement graduate study in the student's main area of concentration. For the purpose of this minor, students may take up to six hours in their home department.

All courses will be selected in consultation with the student's graduate adviser and the Director of Women and Gender Studies.

Requirements:

  • Six required credit hours:
    3 hours: 8000-level seminar in feminist theory offered through History, Sociology, Political Science or English.
  • and 3 hours: 8000-level Seminar: Problems and Issues in Feminist Scholarship This seminar will address research across a range of disciplines. Students will have exposure to different methodological approaches as part of the seminar's requirement. (Consent of instructor required.)
